Lead Carpenter / Site Supervisor — Residential Construction

Role Overview
As our Lead Carpenter / Site Supervisor, you’ll be the on-site leader ensuring jobs are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard. You'll manage subcontractors, handle day-to-day problem-solving, and serve as the main point of contact on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily site operations on residential remodels and additions

  • Read and interpret plans, scopes of work, and specifications

  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and material deliveries

  • Ensure jobs meet quality, safety, and scheduling benchmarks

  • Communicate with the owner and clients about progress and changes

  • Perform hands-on carpentry as needed

  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient job sites

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in residential construction, with experience leading crews

  • Strong framing-to-finish carpentry skills

  • Ability to manage and motivate subs and junior workers

  • Comfortable reading plans and working independently

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus

  • Leadership mindset: organized, proactive, and accountable

We’re a growing residential construction company in Portland, ME looking for a Carpenter to join our team. We specialize in high-quality remodels and additions and are looking for someone dependable, skilled, and ready to grow with us.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform hands-on carpentry (demo to finish)

  • Frame walls, install doors/windows, cabinetry, trim, siding

  • Support site supervisor and work alongside subcontractors

  • Keep job sites clean, organized, and productive

  • Load and unload materials and tools

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3–5+ years of residential carpentry experience

  • Strong framing and finish skills

  • Good work ethic and attention to detail

  • Reliable transportation and basic tools

  • Ability to work independently or with a team
